Collection comprises one pack each of Cabbage Surprise (summer/autumn), Cabbage Autumn Queen F1, Cabbage Tundra F1 (winter) and Cabbage Tarvoy F1 (winter/spring).

Surprise F1

A summer cabbage producing round, shiny mid-green heads of the sweetest flavour. Ideal shredded raw in salads, coleslaw or as a cooked vegetable. Stands a very long time before splitting.

Autumn Queen F1

The solid, tender, sweet heads are wonderful when eaten raw in salads, coleslaw, cooked or added to a stirfry. The outer leaves change to an attractive dark green colour in autumn. This versatile cabbage is ideal in both the Summer and Autumn.

Tundra F1

Solid, sweet, crisp heads, ideal for winter salads. High yielding and very hardy and can be picked right through winter. Considered in trials to be the outstanding variety of the decade.

Tarvoy F1

Significant advantage to the home gardener. Once mature, remains in harvest condition for several months. Just two sowings of Tarvoy will provide Savoys for 3 seasons of the year.

Cabbage : Autumn : Autumn Queen F1

The solid, tender, sweet heads are wonderful when eaten raw in salads, coleslaw, cooked or added to a stirfry. Cabbage Autumn Queen has outer leaves that change to an attractive dark green colour in autumn. This versatile cabbage is ideal in both the Summer and Autumn.

Cabbage : Autumn : Minicole F1

Have you noticed how difficult it is to buy a SMALL cabbage, or how garden-grown cabbages get wasted because they are ready and you are not? Cabbage Minicole not only overcomes both these problems (it stands ready for cutting for four months) but it can be grown very close together, is used commercially for coleslaw, and is delicious fresh.

Cabbage : Brigadier F1 Hybrid

(Autumn/Winter). Ideal to grow a quality giant cabbage, producing heads up to 6.5kg (14lbs). Cabbage Brigadier F1 Hybrid is delicious eaten raw, with a high sugar and Vitamin C content, but also excellent when cooked, Stands well in good condition, with Fusarium resistance.

Cabbage : Caramba F1 (Sweetheart Type)

Sweetheart cabbages are becoming increasingly popular in supermarkets during late summer through to winter. Now you can grow your own! Cabbage Caramba has tender, sweet pointed mid-green hearts, ideal shredded raw in salads and coleslaws or delicious as a steamed vegetable.

Early ballhead summer cabbage, Cabbage Derby Day has good resistance against bolting.

Cabbage : Elisa F1

(Summer)

Cabbage Elisa is a deliciously sweet tasting summer ball-head Cabbage of exceptional quality, producing compact, round, shiny heads which have good standing and are not prone to splitting. Plants also have good resistance to bolting. Ideal sliced raw in salads and stir-fries as well as a steamed vegetable. Seeds are in the RHS Vegetable Collection.

Cabbage : Flowering Northern Lights Mixed F1

Large ornamental plants with frilled edges and heart lifting colours for months. Cabbage Flowering Northern Lights Mixed is superb in containers. Recommended for charm and impact.

Leaves colour when night temperatures fall to 50F/10C.

Cabbage : Kalibos

An old Eastern European heirloom producing unique, red pointed hearts. Cabbage Kalibos is best grown for late summer and autumn use when firm, solid hearts have few waste outer leaves. Ideal shredded raw in salads as the colour reduces on cooking.

Cabbage : Kilaton F1 Hybrid

Clubroot Resistant!

Cabbage Kilaton has a high level of Clubroot resistance producing quality, 2kg, autumn ballheads with a solid, dense structure. Superb used for coleslaw, salads or steamed.

Cabbage Kilaton F1 Hybrid will stand for a long while in the garden and keep in good condition. It also stores exceptionally well over a long period without deterioration allowing gardeners more time to enjoy its delicious flavour.

It has taken over 18 years of conventional breeding to develop a variety that can combat the devastating brassica disease Clubroot and this superb variety is the most resistant we have ever grown on our trials.

A well known variety, Cabbage Primo produces solid 'ball head' cabbage from June to August. Easy and productive.

(Spring/Summer/Autumn)

A British bred pointed cabbage with very good colour, ideal for use as 'greens' and 'hearted greens' for sowing and harvesting all year round. Cabbage Pyramid F1 Hybrid - seeds in the RHS Vegetable Collection - stands very well, staying in good condition without bolting.

Cabbage : Savoy January King

This is a hardy winter cabbage, not even severe frost seems to bother it. The heads of Savoy Cabbage January King are crisp and crunchy with good flavour and the leaf is a conifer-blue colour.

Cabbage : Savoy King F1

Outpaces and out yields all other Savoys. Savoy Cabbage King can produce a crop almost every season of the year, so you don't need to wait for winter to experience that delicious Savoy flavour.

Cabbage : Savoy Melissa F1

An attractive new Savoy with neatly compact shape. Savoy Cabbage Melissa is a late summer/early autumn maturing variety of sweet taste also stands well in good condition through the autumn. Shredded adds texture to mixed salads, stir-fries, or use as a steamed vegetable.

Cabbage : Savoy Siberia F1

Whilst inspecting our trials we discovered this highly frost tolerant variety, which withstood all types of weather. The large, dark blue-green savoy leaves will not discolour by frost. Because of the long standing ability of Savoy Cabbage Siberia, you will be able to enjoy the delicious sweet savoy flavour for many weeks.

Cabbage : Savoy Tarvoy F1

Significant advantage to the home gardener. Once mature, Savoy Cabbage Tarvoy remains in harvest condition for several months. Very hardy with dense, dark green heads. An outstanding performer in difficult conditions.

Cabbage : Shelta F1

Specially bred, dark green ballhead, Cabbage Shelta has a sweet flavour, ideal shredded raw in salads, or steamed.

Cabbage : Spring : Advantage F1

An excellent new variety suitable for providing both spring greens or small to medium sized hearted spring cabbage and summer cabbage depending on when you sow it. Cabbage Advantage F1 performs much better than non F1 varieties being more winter hardy and less prone to bursting. From an August sowing will keep well into April.

It has one very big advantage over most other cabbages suitable for autumn sowing. Cabbage April can withstand the bolting tendency (running to seed with resulting complete loss of crop) which often plagues autumn sown cabbage and it can also be sown very close together 38cm (15in) apart 25cm (10in) between rows. Ideal where space is at a premium.

Cabbage : Spring: Durham Early

Probably one of the most well known and reliable spring cabbages, Cabbage Durham Early produces firm, pointed, well flavoured hearts on compact plants.

Can also be sown or planted closely for delicious 'spring greens' ready to harvest from February.

Cabbage : Spring: Hero F1 Hybrid

The first introduction of 'semi round' ballhead spring Cabbage. Cabbage Spring Hero has good frost hardiness and forms solid heads from late April through to May which remain solid over several weeks. Can also be sown in spring for summer maturity.

Cabbage : Summer : Green Valley F1

This premier variety heralds a new era for the flavour of cabbage. Cabbage Green Valley has tightly packed, creamy-yellow hearts of crisp leaves which have a butter-like flavour peppered with a hint of spice. Versatile to any season and cropping around 65 days from transplanting. The medium-large heads hold well in the ground and are slow to crack. It's compact habit makes it ideal for smaller kitchen gardens.

Cabbage : Summer : Hispi F1 Hybrid

An outstanding variety. Ideal for small gardens. Cabbage Hispi can be grown at virtually any season of the year and comes to maturity faster than cabbages specially created for specific seasons. Even autumn sown it will beat the earliest of the spring cabbages. Hispi is a pointed type, strong and uniform and with a beautifully sweet flavour. A Jan/Feb sowing fills the late spring gap in cropping. Bolt resistant.

Cabbage : Summer : Savoy Estoril F1 Hybrid

New breeding in Summer Savoys, Savoy Cabbage Estoril produces an attractive, round, mid green, savoyed heart, approximately 500g (1lb) in weight.

Delicious eaten raw, adding texture and taste to a summer salad.

Good holding ability during the heat of summer.

A reliable old favourite, Cabbage Greyhound produces early maturing pointed hearts of excellent flavour. Compact plants with very few wasted outer leaves.

Cabbage : Summer/Autumn : Red Jewel F1

One of the best round red cabbages there is. Cabbage Red Jewel has large, tightly packed hearts with crisp, ruby red leaves. Excellent standing in the ground and storing ability.

Cabbage : Summer/Autumn : Surprise F1 Hybrid

A new summer cabbage of Golden Cross type, producing round, shiny mid-green heads of a sweet flavour. Cabbage Surprise F1 Hybrid is ideal shredded raw in salads, for stir fries, coleslaw or as a cooked vegetable. Stands a very long time before splitting. Excellent for successional sowing for summer and autumn harvests.

Cabbage : Winter : Jewel

Outstanding introduction for over-winter production of evenly sized, smooth, dark leaved greens. Very slow to heart, eventually forming compact 250g (8oz) loose heads. Superb winter hardiness and has excellent flavour and bolting resistance.

Cabbage : Winter : Tundra F1

Solid, sweet, crisp heads, ideal for winter salads. Cabbage Tundra is high yielding and very hardy and can be picked right through winter. Considered in trials to be the outstanding variety of the decade.

Kale : Walking Stick

(Jersey Cabbage) This famous Channel Islands heirloom kale makes a tall, straight stem, 2m (6ft) tall topped with a rosette of edible leaves. When the stems of Kale Walking Stick mature in the autumn, they can be cut, carved and varnished to make attractive walking sticks. Plants left in a second year may run to seed or increase in height to over 3m (9½ft).
